Student Tech Buzz 11/11-11/15

This Week's Tech Buzz is all about free resources for learning and using technology in new and exciting ways!

It goes without saying that technology is a huge part of our daily life here at SU. The folks that utilize every bit of technology available to them sometimes find themselves in a better position when trying to understand the world around them.  That being said, below you will find some resources that, if you explore them, might lead you to a better understanding of how computer related technologies function
Free software for students through DreamSpark

Their website, found at the below link, says it best:

"What is DreamSpark? DreamSpark is simple: it's all about giving students Microsoft professional-level developer and designer tools at no cost so that students can chase their dreams and create the next big breakthrough in technology - or just get a head start on their career."

If you already have a passion for technology and computers, DreamSpark is a tremendous resource for students to get the programs you need to make your creativity become a reality.
Create your own animations, protects, games and much more in Scratch

Search through thousands of protects to see exactly what Scratch is capable of. Enjoy!

Here is  quick video that introduces Scratch
Looking for a first step in coding?  Codeacademy might inspire you!
