Devon's Tips & Tricks Post

Posted on 05:40 by Unknown
Here is Devon Taylor's Tips & Tricks to start of the week after the Labor Day holiday.

Become an Advanced Googler
Google search is one of the most powerful tools that we have at our fingertips on a daily basis.  If you know how, you can use Google search to fine tune your search queries to find specific filetypes, get weather forecasts, search within a zip code and many other specific features!  Check out this site from Google that shares all the tips and tricks to get the most out of your searching!

I found this great article the other week about they type of content that students should post on LinkedIn if they are still in school.  This is a great way for students to start building their online image and creating a working CV / Resume of content that potential employers can view.  Many of us work with students either in the classroom or as work-studies which means we can also provide students with much needed recommendations on the professional network.  Click here to give it a read and connect with those who you feel deserve a recommendation!

A video recording can be a powerful tool to use in your classroom / department. Students could use this to post video responses to discussion questions, faculty can post a video walkthrough of an assignment's instructions and staff could use it to provide instructions for their Organization members...the list could go on and on... Check out Tristan's post here, on the IC Tech Blog to see how to go about making a video on Bb.  It's really easy!
